Saloon Bar Reviews

An innocent man is about to be hanged. His fiancee, Allan, is a barmaid who's naturally distraught over this turn of events. Her friends at the bar, led by Harker, a part-time bookie, play some mental gymnastics and in the course of the evening figure out the real murderer. This clever little piece is an imaginative exercise. The dialog is sharp and well handled by the ensemble. Based on a popular West End play, there are a few holes in the plot, but these are covered to some degree with fast-paced direction. Overall, an enjoyable effort that will appeal to mystery fans.
