Ride, Ryder, Ride Reviews

This is the first "Red Ryder" film, based on the famous comic strip. Eagle Lion introduced this series as a replacement for their retired set of films featuring Eddie Dean. Here Bannon is the title character who stops a stagecoach robbery early on, then joins Stewart, a newspaper publisher. She is out to clean up her town, which is accomplished thanks to Bannon and his Indian sidekick, Reynolds (later to be replaced by Bobby Blake of the "Our Gang" comedies). Featuring a simple script and straightforward direction and acting, RIDE, RYDER, RIDE! was made with a juvenile audience clearly in mind.
