Another film in Twentieth Century Fox's minor comedy series "The Jones Family," this finds Prouty and company returning home after a trip to Hollywood. A telegram arrives, explaining that a rich uncle has left them a gold mine near the Grand Canyon. The good-hearted family pack their

bags once more and head west. They contract with a guide (Collins) who leads them up a mountain to a lonely old cabin. It's not lonely for long, as it turns out to be the hideout of some robbers. Through a series of comic mishaps, Prouty and his kin manage to round up the bad guys and collect a

fat reward. Collins is the standout here, providing some good laughs. This film is funnier than most B comedies, employing a number of clever visual gags rather than a string of bad jokes. This shouldn't be a surprise, considering that the story was written by the famed silent clown Keaton. This

was his first screen credit after an absence of many years. Though bad fortune and alcohol had taken their toll, the Great Stone Face was still capable of clever ideas, as this film proves.
