Prisoner of Corbal Reviews

This British picture, set in the midst of the French Revolution, casts Terry as the love object of both revolutionary Asther and aristocrat Sinclair. It's the latter who emerges with Terry in his arms; Asther eventually commits suicide. Some racy bedroom scenes were clipped for the US release. The actors suffer from miscasting, but Asther gives an outstanding performance. Interesting use of camera angles stands out, as does the direction of the crowd scenes.
