PRETTY SMART is one of those B-pictures in which several cast members are related to famous personalities. Daphne "Zigs" Ziegler (Tricia Leigh Fisher, daughter of Connie Stevens and Eddie Fisher) is a rebellious teenager who, with her sister, Jennifer (Lisa Lorient), is sent off to one of

those finishing schools in Greece where girls split into groups on the basis of social class and hair color. Jennifer, being blonde and refined, goes off with one group, while the dark-haired Zigs joins up with Torch (Paris Vaughan, daughter of singer Sarah) and Zero (Patricia Arquette, sister of

Rosanna) in another. The school is run by Richard Crawley (Dennis Cole), a man whose slimy personality is matched only by his disgusting exploitation of the girls in secret pornographic videos and drug running. There's nothing in PRETTY SMART's plotting that makes it different from any number of

similar students-versus-authority movies. Easily identifiable stereotypes abound, while predictable situations and some nice Greek scenery help pass the time. What makes this film particularly loathsome though is its reliance on teenage sexuality.
