Porky's II: The Next Day Reviews

This sequel remains true to the tasteless formula of the original. The main elements are juvenile humor and pranks among a group of high school students. The movie does a better job than the original, however, in plot development. The high-school students want to stage a Shakespeare festival, but come up against a bigoted reverend, Wiley, who finds the master's works filled with obscene passages. Also against the festival are members of the Ku Klux Klan, who don't want to see an Indian in the role of Romeo. Co-scripter Alan Ormsby is the Florida-based low-budget horror-comedy writer of such cult classics as CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS (1972) and DEATHDREAM (1972).
