This was to be the last Monogram production to feature Wayne. The Duke plays a government agent who goes undercover to track down some counterfeiters who operate near the Mexican border. His first suspect is Hodgins, a medicine show operator, but the trail leads to Canutt. There's the

usual amount of action and gun play; the highlight is a high dive off a cliff into a lake. Burns plays Hodgins' daughter and is Wayne's love interest. From Monogram Wayne went to Republic Studios using the character name "John Wyatt" once again in his first film there, WESTWARD HO (1935). This was

no doubt done to capitalize on the popularity of the cowboy star. The direction and production here are average work and Wayne isn't bad, but you would never guess he was to become a great American legend by watching this film.
