The documentary Oscar Peterson: The Life of a Legend delves into the life story of Peterson, a man widely regarded as one of the two or three most gifted and accomplished jazz pianists of the 20th Century and a certified master of swing. Among other elements, the program features one of the first reunions of Peterson Trio members Herb Ellis and Ray Brown in decades, discusses the racially-mixed Trio's clashes with bigotry on the road, and explores the complex family dynamics at the heart of the pianist's life, courtesy of a Peterson family reunion and interviews where Oscar's children candidly discuss their feelings regarding their dad.
