Mong, a down and out attorney who had dealings with a diamond thief, is found guilty and jailed after the crook is found dead on the roof of Porcasi's night club. Revier is Mong's daughter who knows that despite his reputation, her father is innocent. She gets a job in the club as a singer

and ends up becoming a celebrity in town. Eventually she proves that Porcasi is the real killer. In the end, Porcasi is killed and Hatton, who has played a drunk throughout the picture, reveals himself to be an undercover reporter investigating the case all along. The film, with a few minor

exceptions, takes place on just two sets: the nightclub and Porcasi's penthouse suite. This was a reflection of the film's cheap production values, as well as the limited settings that numerous early talkies had to work with. Sound was still a new creature when this film was made and wiring entire

studios for the new technique was an expensive venture. The acting and production values are okay. There is nothing special about this picture; just one of the many programmers put out to fill the double features of the day.
