This standard suspense film from Mervyn LeRoy casts Seberg as the lonely wife of Hill, who is always away giving psychiatric lectures. In his absence, Seberg begins an affair with young naval officer Garrison. A quarrel between the two ends with the accidental shooting of Garrison.

Panic-stricken, Seberg tries to hide the body, calling upon her trustworthy neighbor, Blackman, to help. They toss the body in a ravine and anonymously call the police, but when the cops arrive, the body has disappeared. In the next scene, we learn that Garrison is only wounded, but suffering from

amnesia in a nearby hospital. The film ends with Garrison quietly returning to his post after being treated by the cuckolded husband, and Seberg and Hill living happily ever after. Unfortunately, LeRoy starts off with an intriguing premise, but takes the easy way out by resorting to the familiar

amnesia excuse. Seberg looks wonderful, especially against the background of the French Riviera, recalling her days of BONJOUR TRISTESSE.
