When reporter O'Brien writes an article praising rocker Randazzo, her stuffed-shirt editor rewrites it as an attack on rock music. Disc jockey Freed takes up the challenge and--after explaining the history of rock and its development from blues, jazz, and country & western (with the

examples of LaVern Baker, Lionel Hampton and his Band, and Ferlin Husky illustrating each)--he calls on his young listeners to prove they're not a bunch of hoodlums by raising money for the heart fund. The plot isn't much and none of the leads could act their way out of a paper bag, but with this

much great music (over thirty songs) in one film, such considerations fade to insignificance. Freed, Randazzo, Berry, Lymon, Baker, and The Moonglows had all appeared in ROCK, ROCK, ROCK the year before.
