A Welsh village's annual production of Handel's "Messiah" is the cause of a feud between the community's two leading families when the choirmaster decides that Cooper will sing the contralto part, although Thomas has sung the part for the last 15 years. Fraser and Davies put off their

elopement to try to reconcile the families, but it is not until Evans decides that both women will sing the part that peace returns to the village. A likable comedy, very well done by all concerned. Reminiscent of the Ealing comedies of the same period.
