A husband-and-wife vaudeville dance team, Leonard and Dunn, split up when the latter lands a legit acting role. After a couple of years the pair reunite--Dunn, a successful starlet, and Leonard, a struggling prop man. The unlikely event which brings them together is the injury of their

young daughter. She miraculously recovers when dad literally sings her back to health. Being Universal's first all-talkie musical doesn't help the fact that the script and dialog are rather poorly conceived. Universal apparently felt, in the infancy of sound, that nothing mattered but the songs,

which are, in fact, quite hummable. They include: "The Song of the Islands" (Charles King), "Here I Am," "There's Sugar Cane Round My Door," "The Boogy Man Is Here" (Eddie Leonard, Grace Stern, Jack Stern), "Roly Boly Eyes" (Leonard).
