A group of zany family members, headed by siblings Herbert and Boland, runs a news syndicate. The office is populated with a variety of crazies, including Mowbray as a dubious psychiatrist and O'Connell, the inebriated cartoonist. The main body of the story involves the love affair

between Hughes, the niece of Herbert and Boland, and Auer, the paper's looney-tune caption writer. The oldsters are against the relationship and set out to nip the romance in the bud. Despite three screenwriters and a fairly good comedic cast, this film goes nowhere. The situations are tired and

the characters, though well played, are hampered by the script, which leaves them little room to play around in--a necessary element for something with the pretensions of "zaniness." Evidently no one told the production team.
