A sweet young girl, Gadd, is maid for a house that is sublet to a band of robbers. She and window cleaner Burdon overhear a conversation wherein the crooks plan to rob an heiress of a valuable necklace during a ball. The plan calls for the lights to go out and the real necklace to be

substituted with a fake. The working-class couple decides not to call the cops but rather to go to the ball themselves and stop the crooks. Some good laughs along the way, but mostly this film resorts to pratfalls and mugging for the humor. The actors aren't bad, though, giving nice if uninspired

comic performances.
