One of the best films in the "Bowery Boys" series, LET'S GO NAVY sends Slip Mahoney (Leo Gorcey) and the fellas on a high-seas adventure when they enlist in the Navy to catch two sailors who've stolen $1,600 in charity funds the boys were holding. After a year on the sea, they still haven't

caught up with the thieves, but when Sach Jones (Huntz Hall) wins $2,000 gambling, the boys leave the Navy (they'd joined under assumed names so they would be able to go AWOL as soon as they were ready). Unfortunately, Sach's winnings are stolen by the same two crooks who robbed them earlier, but

their commanding officer manages to retrieve the money, and through a bureaucratic mistake the boys are re-enlisted. This was the 23rd film in the "Bowery Boys" series and the last to be produced by Jan Grippo.
