Reason is leading an expedition in the deep jungle when he and his comrades are suddenly attacked by a giant dinosaur. Who should come along to save the day but King Kong! The mighty ape falls in love with expedition member Miller, but the interspecies romance is interrupted by Amamoto as

a mad scientist about to take over the world. He must have gotten an "A" in "Taking over the World 101" at Mad Scientist University, for he has all the right tools to do it. Unable to get the real Kong, he creates the robotic Mechani-Kong. When this breaks down, he kidnaps the real Kong and the

expedition crew as well. Kong fights Gorosaurus (Godzilla may have been working on another film) and eventually has it out with his metallic clone high atop the Tokyo Tower. It's all as campy as can be and a great time waster if you've already trimmed your toenails. Rankin, Jr. (the film's

American-version producer, who made a name for himself with American Saturday morning television cartoons) directed additional footage with the American actors that was tacked on for US distribution. The original director was Inoshiro Honda, the man who created GODZILLA.
