Gorgeous Technicolor photography of stunning Australian locations can't hide the shortcomings of this unusual western, which stars Lawford and Boone as two desperate crooks trying to swindle cattle rancher Currie. After a botched robbery in Sydney, the pair happen upon Currie's ranch, and

the evil Boone decides to convince the old man and his daughter, O'Hara, that the good-hearted Lawford is in fact the rancher's long-lost son. To be even more convincing, Boone and Lawford help the father and daughter on a cattle drive from the Outback to a watering hole. Many challenges are met

(a brush fire, a stampede, dust storms), but finally a mounted policeman, Rafferty, catches up with the would-be swindlers and the jig is up. In a gunfight with the law, Boone is killed and Lawford is wounded, but the authorities promise O'Hara they'll go easy on Lawford because he gave up and

confessed. Despite the Australian locations, the script is fairly standard western fare that has been done to death in countless B productions. O'Hara is as beautiful as Boone is delightfully evil, but fans of director Milestone are bound to be a bit disappointed.
