Bergman: he on violin, she on piano. But the love of his wife and children is too much and Bergman comes to realize this affair will not last. She leaves him, yet he is too frightened to return home. But the urge to see his daughter is overpowering and he leaves for his village. When his daughter

sees him she runs towards her father but is hit by a truck. The family is reunited in the hospital as the girl recovers and the father realizes where his true love really lies. The film is one of great beauty and care. (In Swedish; English subtitles.)
