Without a doubt, this ranks as a classic in the "So Bad It's Good" genre. INFRA-MAN is a veritable feast for camp fans, with visual design, plot developments, and outrageous dialog that pay little heed to such foolish notions as intelligence or logic. After a Chinese volcano erupts, things

go haywire. There's a humongous flying lizard and other giant reptiles attacking without mercy; the Earth splits open; and a 20 million-year-old woman, bedecked in snakeskin and skulls, creates havoc. And that's just for openers! Only Infra-man, a sort of solar-powered superhero with beetlelike

eyes, can save the world. But first he must fight off additional perils, which this English-dubbed film unashamedly is packed with. The situations and mise-en-scene are right out of any good comic book, as is the wonderfully idiotic dialog. The simplest remarks are delivered with the utmost

seriousness, making it all the more ridiculous. This production was from the Shaw Brothers, who produced many a cheap exploitation feature in their day.
