Errol stars in this sporadically funny little comedy as a henpecked banker of a small town. He's at odds with his snobby wife Cunningham over the future of their daughter Coles. Cunningham wants Coles to marry someone rich, while Errol sees that the girl loves a lowly bakery delivery boy

and urges her to marry for love, not money. In the meantime, Errol manages to get out of going to a ritzy mountain resort with his wife by using the excuse that he must travel to Washington for a meeting with the vice president. Errol is actually going to Washington, Oklahoma, on a fishing trip.

When he returns, he is surprised to learn that he is now considered an important man due to his impressive (though nonexistent) political connections, and the whole town turns out to greet him. This leads to some bizarre situations as Errol scrambles to maintain his credibility by having various

buddies impersonate the vice president to fool the townsfolk. Luckily the real vice president shows up and vindicates him.
