Halliday. Davis, who is a fellow copywriter and former lover of Brent, writes a dynamic commercial for him to get his firm off the ground. In return she wants to resume their relationship. Davis' commercial is a success and soon clients are beating down Brent's office door. Flustered by his

newfound success, Brent is about to divorce his wife and marry Davis when he overhears some nasty remarks made by Davis about Dvorak and realizes that he still loves his wife. Remembering that Dvorak was his inspiration from the start, Brent leaves Davis and returns to his wife.
