Sick little film starring Gough as a frustrated writer of mystery novels. Believing that the public will respond to real-life gore, Gough decides to perpetrate unusual and imaginative killings and then use this fresh, first-hand material to write fiendishly explicit novels. He throws a

hypnotic spell over his faithful assistant Curnow, turning him into a lumpy-faced monster that does the writer's evil bidding. The murders are committed with a variety of gadgets including a pair of binoculars that plunge two steel spikes into the victim's eyes; a guillotine hidden above a girl's

bed; and ice tongs that impale the victim. An acid vat disposes of the bodies. Eventually Curnow turns on his master and kills Gough in an amusement park. The film was originally released in something called "Hypnovision," which meant a 13-minute lecture on hypnotism shown before the movie.
