Guilty of Treason Reviews

A 1950s anti-communist propaganda film that shows the terrors of life behind the Iron Curtain through the real-life trial and conviction of Cardinal Mindszenty of Hungary. The story traces the life of Mindszenty, played by Bickford, detailing his conflicts with the communist Hungarian regime after WW II and his ultimate imprisonment as an enemy of the state. At his trial it is revealed that Bickford's controversial confession was attained through torture, hypnosis, and drugs. A truly believable reconstruction of an ignominious incident in communist history.
