Eleventh Hour Redemption was so "American" in its style and substance that some reviewers assumed it was filmed at the New York distribution headquarters of Paris-based Pathe pictures. Actually, the Pathe people didn't set up its American branch in New York, but in New Jersey, where the entire company relocated at the outset of WWI. Whatever the case, this one-reel drama dealt with a young coward who early in the proceedings causes the death of his courageous brother. The protagonist is given a chance to redeem himself on the battlefield, which he does, albeit at the price of his own life. Though Variety found portions of the film to be "gruesome," the reviewer was generally pleased with Eleventh Hour Redemption.
