Do You Wanna Know a Secret? Reviews

Straight to video slashers are usually truly dismal affairs, and Do You Wanna Know a Secret? is no exception. Lacking in just about everything that makes an entertaining film, this stinker smells from the very beginning (lifting a scare from Exorcist III) to its predictably boring conclusion. If there's anything interesting in here, it's seeing ex-teen heartthrob Joey Lawrence come out of his cocoon as a reborn, buff Joseph Lawrence! Judging by his recent choice of roles, it looks like he should have a beautiful new career on his hands. Also making embarrassing appearances are a grown-up (and quite ugly) Chad Allen and Jeff Conaway, forever trying to live down being number two to Travolta's big head (in Grease). With acting about as good as the Price Is Right showgirls, at the very least the flick could fall back on is its scares and bloody gore...Unfortunately there isn't any. Yes, yet another modern slasher that doesn't deliver on the goods -- the only reason the people are watching this junk in the first place (besides the actor's relatives). Added on top of everything else, Do You Wanna Know a Secret? features one of the worst killer masks in horror history! The phrase "it has to be seen to be believed" rings to mind, but that means you'd have to watch it, and no one should have to do that!
