Demonoid Reviews

A really awful "hand" movie, DEMONOID features Roy Jenson and Samantha Eggar as a husband and wife who go to Mexico looking for silver but instead find the Devil's left hand buried in a silver box. The hand is mobile, of course, and wanders around possessing people, who subsequently get a sudden urge to remove their own left hands. The going gets pretty ridiculous as various members of the possessed inflict all manner of pain upon themselves to remove their demonic digits. Eggar finally calls on a priest, Stuart Whitman, to exorcise the hand. Whitman outdoes a number of bad performances by demonstrating both his Spanish and Irish accents while playing the same character. Though DEMONOID was filmed in 1979, the producers sat on it for two years until Oliver Stone's THE HAND was released.
