Lavish version of Mark Twain's "The Prince and the Pauper," with Mark Lester in the dual roles. Oliver Reed, Raquel Welch, Ernest Borgnine, George C. Scott, Rex Harrison, David Hemmings, Charlton Heston.

A standard remake of Twain's classic tale about identical twins--one a prince, the other a pauper, both played with fine comic timing by Lester. A star-studded cast helps elevate the tame direction, with the most memorable performances coming from Scott and Borgnine. Welch's beauty is enhanced by some excellent photography--but Ward, in a bit part shines the most.
