Code of the Prairie Reviews

Carson and sidekick Burnette ride into town to find their old friend, one-armed lawman Chatterton, being accosted by outlaws. They come to the rescue and learn that the town is being corrupted by the slimy heavy Barcroft. Barcroft is running his own candidate for sheriff, so Carson runs against him. Barcroft's man strongarms his way into office and appoints a number of his henchmen as deputies. Carson and Burnette come across these deputies robbing a stagecoach, and when the sheriff arrives shortly after, the bad guys finger Carson and Burnette as the robbers. He arrests them but suffers a crisis of conscience and confronts Barcroft with the crime. Barcroft decides to get rid of his man by framing him for the murder of Chatterton. Carson breaks jail, figures the whole thing out, and brings the lot to justice after a huge gunfight. Exciting, above average B Western.
