A genuine cult item, this gleeful exercise in total gross-out was originally released in 1976 as THE INCREDIBLE TORTURE SHOW with an "X" rating. In 1982 sleazoid New York City film production house Troma acquired the rights and rereleased it as BLOODSUCKING FREAKS, immediately raising the

ire of Women Against Pornography, which picketed its showing. Basically a bunch of incredibly gory Grand Guignol stage scenes strung together with a flimsy plot, the film stars Seamus O'Brien as the mad master of ceremonies of the off-Off-Broadway "Theatre of the Macabre" show in SoHo. Little does

the audience know that the playhouse is also a front for O'Brien's white-slavery trade. When the goofy impresario kidnaps a noted ballerina, however, the cops finally sit up and take notice. Filmed in "Ghoulovision," the movie features a dwarf, naked cannibal women, decapitations, torture, and

even a woman getting her brains sucked out through a straw. You've been warned.
