Bloodfist V: Human Target Reviews

Ubiquitous straight-to-video action star Don "The Dragon" Wilson demonstrates both his customary skill at hand-to-hand combat and lack of any perceptible acting talent in this generically titled film, which bears no connection to its BLOODFIST predecessors. Jimmy (Don "The Dragon" Wilson) is an FBI agent intent on stopping an illicit arms deal arranged by Asian gunrunners. His investigation nets him no more than a nasty beating by two thugs. He wakes up in a hospital bed stricken with amnesia. Candy (Denise Duff), a woman claiming to be his wife, leads him out of the hospital. Once outside, he is ambushed by the two men who beat him earlier; he successfully fights them off. Because of his memory loss, he hasn't reported to his bosses at the FBI, who now suspect that he's working as a double agent. The Asian gunrunners are also hunting him, making Candy his only ally. The plotline of this half-baked action outing winds up becoming too tangled for its own good. The supporting cast do their best to appear menacing; the late Steve James impresses as one of the principal bad guys.
