Arizona Raiders Reviews

Historical inaccuracies fly like a desert sandstorm in this Murphy western detailing the saga of Quantrell's Raiders immediately after the Civil War. Murphy and Cooper join Quantrell's guerrillas as he is driven out of the South and into Arizona territory. The pair is captured by Union officer Crabbe who sentences them to 20 years of hard labor. Soon after, Crabbe is appointed chief of the newly formed Arizona Raiders and he offers the ex-rebels full amnesty if they join him and help end Quantrell's bloody run through the territory. The effect of the film is marred somewhat by the misrepresentation of the facts; Quantrell was never anywhere near Arizona in his life, and the "Arizona Raiders" weren't actually formed until 1902.
