A strange attempt to tell two versions of the same story by making two short films and showing them one after the other. The subject is the dissolution of a marriage. One film shows us the woman's recollections of the events surrounding the separation. Toher, her husband was unambitious,

lazy, and insecure. She tried to help him make more of himself, but her efforts proved fruitless. She is forced to become the bread winner, has an affair, and becomes a successful career woman. She leaves him thinking it was his jealousy that ruined the marriage. The other film (which was shown in

a different theatre located nearby when first screened in N.Y.C.) shows us the husband's version of the same events, which of course, are quite different. He thinks that it was his wife's infidelity that ruined the marriage. He was happy with his career and recalls that he was forced to end his

work in the small town they lived in due to his wife's immoral behavior. He claims that she became successful because she slept her way to the top. When both films are over, we are left to make up our own minds as to where the truth lies. While the attempt at creating a unique movie-going

experience is admirable, the film ultimately fails due to the interruption between viewing the two films. If, through editing, the stories were juxtaposed, incident for incident, wife's version and husband's version immediately, the effect might have been more powerful. An interesting failure.
