Even if you loved the 1985 remake of KING SOLOMON'S MINES, you're not likely to enjoy this lame adventure tale which again pairs Richard Chamberlain and Sharon Stone. This time Quatermain (Chamberlain) and Jesse Huston (Stone) postpone their trip back to the United States and their marital

vows in order to search through the jungle for Quatermain's brother and the fabled Lost City of Gold. They barely escape death on a number of occasions along the way; the only ones who don't escape are the dispensable natives. About halfway through the film, Quatermain and his crew arrive at the

lost city, where he finds his brother living amongst an interracial tribe ruled by the evil Agon (Henry Silva). Shot at the same time as KING SOLOMON'S MINES (1985), this entry sat on Cannon's shelves for some time before Golan and Globus decided to release it. A heavy publicity campaign

accompanied the film, but it still laid an egg at the box office. Gary Nelson's direction is inept and Chamberlain and Stone have no chemistry.
