In space, no one can hear you snore. A routine mission for the Triple S mining expedition turns deadly when the ship stops to refuel. While the rest of the crew are asleep in their pods, two none-too-bright technicians pick up an abandoned space capsule and are contaminated

by the bio-hazardous material it contains. When McNeal (Jason London) and Kaplan (Missy Crider) awaken for their shift, they find the ship sabotaged and the two technicians dead. With only nine hours of power left, Kaplan and McNeal must determine the cause of the disaster and save their

hibernating co-workers. Unfortunately, they too are exposed to the space junk, and begin exhibiting paranoid symptoms. As the cosmic plague ravages their minds and bodies, Kaplan and McNeal turn on each other. As this unexciting voyage reaches its halfway mark, viewers will wish they were snoozing

along with the dormant crew. Courtesy of the wordiest script in recent memory, the lead players spout various theories about the biochemical garbage until you feel you're at the Science Expo; the unruffled Crider and London deserve some sort of tongue-twisters' medallion for delivering such

ceaseless techno-babble with clarity and conviction. Restricted to one set, this space-malady marathon resembles a Grade-Z chiller from the fifties, minus minimalist charm of yesteryear's drive-in fare. Insomniacs may want to skip their Tylenol PM in favor of viewing this soporific TV movie before

bedtime.
