A Woman Possessed Reviews

Matthews, an English doctor, returns from a trip to the US with Callard, his fiancee. Scott, his domineering mother, takes an immediate dislike to the proposed nuptials and lets everyone know it. Since Callard has a heart condition Scott insists they live with her. When Callard's condition takes a bad turn, her mother-in-law gives her the wrong pills. Matthews saves his beloved's life and accuses his mother of trying to kill Callard. However, it turns out that Leggatt, the family maid, had switched the pills. With the crisis out of the way, the three protagonists realize it's time to settle all differences. Despite some good performances from the cast, this isn't a very engaging drama. Even Ralph Kramden had more interesting mother-in-law confrontations.
