Poitier is an American doctor living in England who comes to the aid of Anderson, the niece of an African ambassador. She is being followed by an unknown group of people who turn out to be concerned that her sickle-cell anemia may flare up. Poitier's performance is standard for him--emotionally engrossing at points while bordering on supersensitivity.
