A Dispatch from Reuter's Reviews

Uninspired carrier pigeons. Rather flat bio follows Julius Reuter, the press baron who established a European empire for the dissemination of news. It's 1833 and the new telegraph systems are not in total use across Europe, so Reuter (Robinson) establishes his "pigeon post" to transmit news between cities. Later carrier pigeons become outmoded--and messy!--and Reuter switches to telegraph wires. But we like the birdies. An example of reality in dire need of dramatic license.
