Heywood plays a young grocery clerk who is having an affair with Booth, her store's married manager. She realizes the man is no good because he steals liquor from the store. But her passions are overwhelming and she cannot bring herself to end the affair. When a store inventory is

conducted, 80 bottles of brandy are found to contain tea. Hrusinsky and Wolfit, two company auditors, question the employees. Heywood, fearing exposure of the affair, runs from the store and Hrusinsky decides that she is to blame. Hrusinksy is a coldhearted, calculating man whose blind loyalties

have affected his marriage. Heywood confronts Booth and asks for his advice. He tells her to take the blame. The worst thing that could happen to her would be probation while he would probably receive a jail sentence. Heywood believes her life is ruined and she kills herself. This unexpected turn

of events moves Hrusinsky and he realizes that his own life needs a reexamination. Booth, ever the cad, remains aloof. He goes back to his job and hires a new girl to replace Heywood. This drama is a little overblown but the love scenes are as hot as they come. The film was made in Czechoslovakia

with a predominantly British cast.
