Sterne plays an American arriving in Athens in search of his ex-wife Sutton, whom he had abandoned nine years earlier following their son's birth. Sutton is now married to Baldini, a wealthy Greek architect who stands to inherit a fortune from Sutton's family. It's Sterne's goal to get

that money at any cost. He meets his young son (Lazer) and discovers the boy doesn't get along with Baldini. Sterne promises to help the boy find his real father, not letting on his true identity. He then convinces Lazer to put some poison in the thermos Baldini takes to work every day. After the

boy does so he realizes it was wrong and he and his deaf-mute friend Leder run to the construction site where Baldini works. Sterne intercepts the boys and tells Lazer that he is his real father. The boys get away, and Sterne chases them to the construction site and up 15 flights of scaffolding to

the place where Baldini always eats his noontime meal. A fight ensues, and Sterne shoots Baldini, wounding the man. Leder bravely tries to get the gun away from Sterne but falls to his death. Sterne gives himself up, and Lazer begins to reconcile with Baldini at Leder's funeral. This routine drama

was filmed on location in Athens.
