Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes debuted as a couple on April 29, 2005, in Rome, when he took her as his date to the David di Donatello ceremony.

Cruise jumped for joy and into the annals of pop culture history when he fanatically bounced up and down Oprah's couch while discussing his romance with Holmes on May 23, 2005. "It was wilder than it was appearing to me," Winfrey later said. "I was just trying to maintain the truth for myself because I couldn't figure out what was going on."

After barely two months of dating, Cruise proposed to Holmes at the Eiffel Tower on June 17, 2005. "Today is a magnificent day for me, I'm engaged to a magnificent woman," he told reporters later that day.

The pair stole thunder at practically every red carpet they attended during the first few months of their whirlwind romance. At the L.A. premiere of War of the Worlds in June 2005, they arrived via motorcycle.

The rumor mill went into overdrive after the couple kept an uncharacteristically low profile following the birth of their daughter Suri on April 18, 2006. They finally debuted Suri on the cover of Vanity Fair — shot by Annie Leibovitz — in September 2006.

The couple wed on November 18, 2006, at an Italian castle in a lavish ceremony that cost $2 million. Holmes wore a Giorgio Armani gown and Cruise serenaded his new bride with "You've Lost That Loving Feeling," Top Gun-style.

The couple counted numerous A-listers as friends, including David and Victoria Beckham. The couples were inseparable for a few years after Posh and Becks, who also attended TomKat's wedding, relocated to Los Angeles in 2007.

Remember the singing-and-dancing phase Holmes went through? She put on a sexy show for Cruise at a benefit in May 2010, belting out "Whatever Lola Wants" from the musical Damn Yankees as she teased and pushed her husband around the stage. Cruise replied with a few Risky Business-like moves of his own.

Cruise returned to The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2011 when Oprah dropped by their Telluride, Colo., home. And no, nobody jumped on any couches this time.

Holmes and Cruise were last photographed together in February 2012, and Holmes has since been spotted out and about solo or with Suri. She was all smiles a week before filing for divorce on June 28.
