The latest news for Episode VII: The official character posters have arrived! And they are mesmerizing. Just take a look at Han Solo.
Here's Finn with the blue lightsaber. The BLUE ONE. Yes, we noticed this in the official trailer released a few weeks ago, but we are still reeling. Could it be Luke Skywalker's?!
Daisy Ridley as Rey. Just, wow.
He's immune to the light and looking oh-so-threatening in this poster.
Bow down, droids. It's Princess Leia's official movie poster for The Force Awakens.
The official film poster and full-length trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII (released in October 2015) stir up more questions than answers. Where is Luke Skywalker? Is that a third Death Star? Answers, please!
The final official trailer was released on Oct. 19th. It is action packed, much like previous versions. Though we've learned a few things - for instance Finn has the Force within him - there are so many unanswered questions. We'll just have to wait until Dec. 18th.
On Aug. 10, a Korean trailer for the new film was released and circulated rapidly. Though it included mostly the same footage we'd seen before, we did get a quick glimpse at the commanding flanks of The First Order. Impressive. Most impressive.
All of our old friends: Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Leia (Carrie Fisher), Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and even Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) are back to fight another battle. We're happy to say that Chewbacca has aged really well. We're still looking into who handles his dye job.
Though we're brought to happy tears thinking of the original cast reunion, the new additions to the cast are equally thrilling: John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow and Andy Serkis are all listed as stars.
Oscar Isaac is X-wing pilot Poe Dameron. John Boyega joins us as a possible Stormtrooper (turned Jedi?) Finn. Daisy Ridley plays Rey, who - in the most recently released trailer - finds her way to a lightsaber. Oh, hell yes!
UPDATE: We now know that Adam Driver will play Kylo Ren and that Lupita Nyong'o will take on the role of Maz Kanata.
At first we thought we'd be spending more time on Tatooine. On the contrary: Episode VII takes us to a desert planet known as Jakku.
The Millennium Falcon is BACK and it's in living color. Many of the props used in filming are actual production props, not digital holograms. This means that somewhere on some set there is a real Millennium Falcon built to perfection and used in the making of EpisodeVII. We'll give you a minute to soak that in
The new line of Stormtrooper wear looks amazing. Hooray for upgrades!
There is a new rolling droid named BB-8 in attendance. He looks just as adorably awesome as our O.G. droids C-3P0 and R2D2.
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens will hit theaters December 18th.
