You never forget your first time... watching these sex scenes
After five years, Sheldon and Amy will finally have sex for on The Big Bang Theory. How will their first time stack up to other memorable TV first times?
If Aaron Spelling had his druthers, Donna would've stayed a virgin forever. Protective of his daughter, the producer refused to let Donna give it up before finally agreeing in the Season 7 finale after the gang graduated from college. Donna greets David in bed in nothing but white lingerie, surrounded by a ton of candles -- a touch from co-star Jason Priestley, who directed the episode. "The only thing, which I personally always hated with directors, is everything has to have freakin' candles. Candles and f---in' mirrors," writer and producer Larry Mollin told Vulture. "Writers couldn't give a crap about candles -- no one has candles. They're annoying."
While Kelly, who wore the same dress as her, was being crowned Spring Queen at the iconic spring dance in Season 1, Brenda was upstairs in a hotel room with Dylan. "Do you know why I'm so lucky? How many girls get to have sex for the first time with someone they love?" she tells him. In a then-controversial move, Brenda was (rightfully) not remorseful for having sex, but when viewers complained, the show wrote in a pregnancy scare for Brenda, who then breaks up with Dylan because she decides she's actually not ready for sex.
After coming thisclose to doing the deed on prom night, Cory and Topanga wait another year and a half until after their wedding. But they couldn't even do it on their wedding night because Eric got them arrested by hooking them up with someone else's hotel room. They finally have sex offscreen while on their honeymoon.
On a senior ski trip in Season 4, Joey and Pacey engage in some long-winded (what other kind is there on this show?) verbal back-and-forths about why they haven't had sex yet. In the end, Joey decides she's ready and wants to throw away the wrapper of the condom he's been keeping in his wallet. "Pace, I'm going to count to 10 and then I'm going to start kissing you. If you don't want me to, you're just going to have to stop me," she tells him, lit aglow by the fireplace. "Ten, my love," he says.
Dean shows up to Rory's house in the Season 4 finale to announce that it's over between him and his wife Lindsay, and they promptly get it on in her bed. Lorelai catches them after the fact and chastises Rory for being the other woman because "I didn't raise you to be like this. I didn't raise you to be the kind of girl who sleeps with someone else's husband," while Rory is just upset that her mother is "ruining this" for her. Honestly, this could've all been avoided if Dean just climbed out the window.
Most TV first times are romanticized and beautiful, when in reality they can be terrible and totally awkward. Such is the case for Summer and Seth, who sleep together in Season 1 after he breaks up with Anna. ''I sucked so bad,'' he later tells Ryan. "I was like a fish flopping around on dry land. Nemo and I just wanted to go home." After a few more bumpy attempts, Summer reveals at the end of the episode that she was actually a virgin, and they decide to take things slowly.
After running away from Spike and Drusilla on Buffy's 17th birthday in Season 2, the ultimate angst-ridden couple ends up at Angel's apartment, all soaked from the rain. They profess their love for each other and have sex. Great (temporarily) for them, bad for everyone else. Angel loses his soul and becomes the evil Angelus because he experienced a moment of pure happiness. Poor Buffy has no idea and gets her heart crushed, while Angelus goes about terrorizing the Scooby Gang for the rest of the season until Buffy stabs him... just as Willow restores his humanity. See, sex can lead to bad things.
Though Julie told Matt she wanted to have sex in Season 1, the pair don't consummate their relationship until two seasons later after rekindling their romance during a trip to the lake. The whole sequence -- and the morning after when Matt drops Julie off -- is dialogue-free and handled with care and sensitivity that we had all come to expect from FNL by that point.
Chair was born in the back of a limo in Season 1 after Blair, freshly split from Nate, performs a sexy striptease at Chuck's dad's new burlesque club. Blair initially brushes it off as a one-night stand rebound, going as far to confess in church that she lost her virginity to a "self-absorbed ass," but everyone could see that these two were MFEO, even if they couldn't yet.
Worried that she won't be able to convey the proper emotion as Maria in West Side Story in Season 3, Rachel wants to have sex with Finn, who is none too pleased when he learns her ulterior motive (especially since, you know, she wanted to wait 'til after she won a Tony). After performing perfectly fine on opening night as a virgin, Rachel and Finn make up and have sex because she wants to, not to be a better actress.
Like Rachel, Blaine is also concerned that his virginity is holding him back from playing Tony in West Side Story. He drunkenly tries to seduce Kurt, who rebuffs him. After Blaine apologizes and performs opening night, they too do the deed.
The couple lost their virginity to each other in Season 2, but when they get busy again later, they discover that Jessica's hymen has regenerated, so she'll forever be a vampire virgin. Hoyt thinks it's fantastic that every time will be like the first time. Jessica? Not so much.
Who needs a midnight cram session when you can have sex? April loses her virginity to Jackson the night before the boards, which she ultimately fails, forcing her to reevaluate her faith. Worse, she's the only resident who failed and sees her fellowship offers rescinded. At least she gave it up to her BFF and future hubby?
As a reward for saving his life during the battle at Blackwater, Tyrion gifts Pod a night with three whores at a brothel in Season 3. The ladies later return the money via Pod to Tyrion because it turns out Pod is such a beast in the sack, you can't put a price on that lovemaking. "I imagine it was just pretty straightforward, and it was just beginner's luck, really," Portman told Vulture. "Maybe they're used to seeing the same old customers, so I was a breath of fresh air for those girls. Not what they were expecting. Who knows? And if they thought he was cute, that's nice, I suppose!"
