Meredith Grey she ain't! Forget what you know about Spiro from My Boys. As the titular Mob Doctor, young surgeon Dr. Grace Devlin juggles her budding professional career and her side job — paying off her brother's gambling debts by doing medical work for the Chicago mafia. This will be the actress' second brush with danger: She did a guest arc on Dexter last season.

In the latest offering from J.J. Abrams, who's teaming up with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke and director Jon Favreau for NBC's new sci-fi drama, Spiridakos plays Charlie, a teenager who tries to rescue her brother after he's taken by a local militia in a post-apocalyptic future where all technology has been disabled. Previously seen in Being Human, Spiridakos will have to hold her own in this series opposite Giancarlo Esposito, who joins the cast from Breaking Bad.

Let's hope Handley can win over more fans with Vegas than he did as the much-loathed Oliver on The O.C. In the new CBS drama, set in Sin City in the 1960s, Handley plays the reckless playboy son of Dennis Quaid's real-life Sheriff Ralph Lamb. Handley might bring in a younger audience for the show, starring opposite big names Quaid and Michael Chiklis, who plays Chicago mobster Vincent Savino.

With a solid Broadway resume under her belt, Gummer (aka Meryl Streep's kid) first made the leap to television in last year's short-lived Shonda Rhimes drama Off the Map (in which she also, coincidentally, played a doctor). Gummer plays a recent med school graduate who discovers that she'll be working alongside her high school nemesis at her new job — and also finds herself involved in two distinct love triangles.

Fox's new family comedy is about a single mom, Kate (Dakota Johnson, daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson incidentally) and her ne'er-do-well brother Ben (Nat Faxon, who won an Oscar for writing The Descendents incidentally). Based on creator Dana Fox's own relationship with her brother, the series will also include Echo Kellum as Ben's bud Tommy, the hilarious Lucy Punch as Kate's friend BJ, and 8-year-old Maggie Elizabeth Jones (whom Fox calls "a smart bomb of cuteness") as Kate's daughter Maddie.

While the main draw for the new Fox comedy is creator and star Mindy Kaling, newcomer Weeks has no trouble holding his own opposite the Office veteran as Dr. Jeremy Reed, her on-again off-again love interest. The British actor provides eye candy with a side of arrogance — a character viewers will love to hate.

Benanti, a Broadway veteran and Tony winner whom viewers might know from her work on Eli Stone and the ill-fated The Playboy Club, plays an unlicensed therapist who leads the support group Perry's sportscaster character joins after his wife dies in a car accident. Is it too soon to root for a inappropriate romance between her and Perry?

In the latest offering from Glee and American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy, King plays Goldie, a single mother who acts as a surrogate for a gay couple in California. The role will give the British bombshell an up-close-and-personal taste of American politics: The buzzworthy series has already stirred up controversy among conservative groups for its gay parenting storyline.

Having spent five years on a desert island after surviving a boating accident, rich playboy Oliver Queen (aka The Green Arrow) brings his freshly-honed archery skills back to civilization and uses his superhero status to spend his evenings fighting bad guys. Amell has appeared on New Girl, The Vampire Diaries and Private Practice, and — fun fact! — he played Joran van der Sloot in a Lifetime movie about Natalee Holloway.

Australian singer-actress Bowen showcases both talent sets on ABC's new country soap, playing Scarlett O'Connor, an undiscovered striver who pens songs for superstar Rayna James (Connie Britton). She's also the perfect foil for Hayden Panettiere's Juliette Barnes, the up-and-coming diva who's pushing Rayna out of the spotlight. Team Scarlett!

The undisputed main attraction of NBC's new vet's office workplace comedy Animal Practice is, in fact, not a human actor. Crystal the Monkey's previous credits include Community and The Hangover Part II. Starring here as Dr. Rizzo, assistant to Dr. George Coleman (Justin Kirk), the capuchin — who is estimated to be 18 or 19 years old — even put in an appearance at the Television Critics Association fall TV previews last month, where her (human) co-star Kym Whitley told reporters: "I love the monkey, but I put it in my contract not to be in any scene with it because she is a scene-stealer."

Sketch comedian Cregger co-stars (with Jesse Bradford and Anthony Anderson) in this Jimmy Fallon-produced sitcom about a trio of thirtysomething fathers in New York City. But don't expect the typical arrested development buddy comedy. Fallon says he wants to emphasize the more endearing side of fatherhood.

Best known for his role as Lady Gaga's on-again, off-again boyfriend (he also had a much less buzzed-about turn in The Vampire Diaries), Kinney has now parlayed a modeling career into a starring role as a firefighter on the new show from Law & Order creator Dick Wolf. Wolf has said the show won't follow a "fire of the week" formula — but with Kinney in uniform, it's a safe bet that flames won't be the only things sizzling on the screen.

In this highly-publicized ABC drama, Betts appears opposite Andre Braugher as Grace Shepard, a tough gal lieutenant on a nuclear submarine whose crew become fugitives on an island after defying an order to fire their missiles. Shepard's previous credits include Harry's Law and Persons Unknown.

Despite his role as Vincent Keller (a.k.a. "the Beast") in the CW's reboot of the 1987 series based on the classic fairytale, Ryan is (to put it mildly) pretty easy on the eyes. Ryan and his counterpart Kristin Kreuk, who plays Catherine Chandler, will undoubtedly be one of the hottest couples in primetime — at least as far as looks are concerned. The chemistry between the two actors will certainly give viewers a forbidden romance to root for this fall.

In CBS' Erin Brockovich-esque legal drama, Montgomery plays Martina Garretti, an easily-underestimated young lawyer who lands a job in a fancy New York law firm and uses her Unconventional Street Smarts to crack cases. The British actress has certainly done her homework to pull off her role as a Jersey native — her pitch-perfect accent would rival even Snooki's for authenticity.

Logan's character, Nona Clark, might at first seem like a minor player in this new mystery series, which also stars heavy hitters like Terry O'Quinn and Vanessa Williams — but don't underestimate the teen actress. As a resident of the creepy apartment building where the show takes place, Nona seems shy at first, but a twist at the end of the pilot reveals that her character might be more than meets the eye.

Viewers will recognize Jai as the culture guru on Bravo's Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Let's hope he avoids the "gay sidekick" pigeonhole alongside Reba McIntyre and Lily Tomlin in ABC's new sitcom. McIntyre plays the fish out of water main character, who leaves her cheating husband in Nashville and heads to Malibu to follow her dreams of being a singer. Rodriguez comes on board as a quirky record label assistant-turned-agent to help her out. Queer Eye for the Straight Country Gal? Stay tuned ...
