Disney Stars Who've Dated Each Other

You may have been a die-hard Good Luck Charlie fan, or a kid who watched every episode of Wizards of Waverly Place after school. But did you know that some of your favorite Disney Channel stars — actors who played classmates, crushes, and even sometimes brother and sister — dated each other in real life? Bet that would have blown your pre-teen mind. Check out which of your favorite Disney stars, including the Jonas Brothers, Hilary Duff, Vanessa Hudgens, Demi Lovato, and more have been romantically linked.

Selena Gomez has had some hugely public relationships, including with Justin Bieber and The Weeknd. But do you know which fellow Disney Channel stars she dated? 

Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez began dating in 2008, back when the Jonas Brothers were the darlings of Radio Disney. During the relationship, Gomez starred as one of the love interests in the Jonas Brothers' music video for "Burnin' Up." A personal photo of Jonas' hand can also be seen in Gomez's music video for "A Year Without Rain." The Disney stars stayed an on-again, off-again item until 2010 when they ended things for real. 

Gomez has said the best thing to come out of that relationship was her friendship with another famous Jonas ex, Taylor Swift.

Before she was the star of TV Land's Younger (and a mom of two), Hilary Duff was the Disney Channel heroine Lizzie McGuire. 

Back in the day, Duff dated this pop star who had an iconic cameo on the Lizzie McGuire series. Do you remember who he was?

Hilary Duff and Aaron Carter met in 2000 when the tween pop star was a guest star on Lizzie McGuire. The pair dated for two years. In 2014, when Duff announced her split from then-husband Mike Comrie, Aaron Carter tweeted that he would "spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her."

The youngest of the Jonas Brothers trio is currently married to actress Priyanka Chopra. But he used to have a rep for breaking hearts. Read on to see which Disney stars, besides Selena Gomez, he was linked to. 

The Hannah Montana star met the JoBro while filming an episode of the series. According to Miley Cyrus, they "became boyfriend and girlfriend" the day they met. Their relationship began in 2008, and the couple was on-again, off-again until 2011. 

While the relationship didn't last, it did provide lasting art.

The Miley Cyrus song "7 Things" is about Nick Jonas, and together the couple co-wrote the song "Before the Storm" about their tumultuous relationship. In 2012, Jonas confirmed that the Jonas Brothers song "Wedding Bells" is about his former Disney flame. 

Though they parted, the two remain close friends.

Nick Jonas and fellow Radio Disney mainstay Jordan Pruitt met when Pruitt was the opening act for the Jonas Brothers. The couple dated for a few months in 2009 while Jonas and Selena Gomez were taking one of their breaks.

Vanessa Hudgens only had eyes for this Disney dude while filming High School Musical.

This pair parted ways in 2010, but thank goodness there are three High School Musical movies to chronicle their love story.

But how does Hudgens feel about the relationship today?

Vanessa Hudgens told ETonline that she's "grateful" for her time with Zac Efron. "It started off really organically," she said. "I could not have been more grateful to have that relationship at the time."

Efron, by the way, isn't the only Disney star Hudgens has been linked to.

These two met in 2005 while Vanessa Hudgens was filming High School Musical. However, she and Austin Butler didn't start dating until 2011. The same year, Butler starred in the Disney Channel HSM-spinoff, Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure. Hudgens and Butler broke up in 2020.

Before she was writing breakup songs about Nick Jonas, Miley Cyrus dated these other Disney stars. Do you remember who they are? 

Dylan Sprouse (pictured, right) once told Jimmy Kimmel that he and Miley Cyrus dated -- but that it was over as soon as Nick Jonas walked by. Poor guy!

Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato met on the set of Camp Rock in 2007. After becoming close friends, the pair tried dating in 2010. Their romance lasted for about a month.

Brenda Song and Joe Jonas were spotted dining together in 2009 after his big breakup with actress Camilla Belle. Song is pictured at the premiere of Jonas Brothers: 3-D Concert Experience the same year. 

Joe Jonas and AJ Michalka met while touring together, and they began dating in 2005. The couple split in 2006. But the melody lingered. Literally. 

Jonas Brothers and Aly & AJ fans alike long believed the Aly & AJ breakup anthem "Potential Breakup Song" was about Joe Jonas, but they were one song off. In 2020, the Michalkas confirmed that "Flattery" was about the former Jonas L.A. star. 

But wait, we're not done recounting Joe Jonas' Disney dating history. 

The former Jonas co-stars sparked major dating buzz when they were spotting holding hands on an outing in 2008. But according to GQ, Joe Jonas and Chelsea Kane were reported to be "an item" even before their Disney Channel show. 

Dove Cameron, of Liv and Maddie and the Descendants franchise, not only dated this fellow Disney star but also accepted his proposal. 

The Liv & Maddie co-stars began dating in 2013. Ryan McCartan proposed in 2016. The couple ended things shortly after.

The Girl Meets World star was once part of a very cute Disney couple.

Sabrina Carpenter dated the former Good Luck Charlie actor for a few months in 2015 before calling it quits the same year.

Bella Thorne (Shake It Up) dated this wolfishly handsome Disney guest star in 2015; he was an old friend.

Bella Thorne and Wizards Of Waverley Place's Gregg Sulkin were friends for six years before they began dating in 2015. The couple confirmed their split in 2016.

"We will always love each other and have a deep respect for one another, as we have each grown to be better people because of our time together," Thorne and Sulkin said in a joint statement. 

The pop icon famously dated one of her former Mickey Mouse Club co-stars for three years.

Though Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake met in 1993 (when they were both kids on The Mickey Mouse Club), they didn't begin dating until 1999 (when they were both pop stars). They split in 2002. 

Before she was the star of Netflix's Young & Hungry and Fox's short-lived Almost Family, who did this Hannah Montana favorite go steady with?

Emily Osment and Tony Oller began dating in 2009, but they broke up in 2010. Oller starred in the Demi Lovato Disney Channel show As The Bell Rings before finding success in the boy band MKTO. 

Aaron Carter may have expressed devotion to Hilary Duff, but Duff isn't the only Disney actress he's dated. Do you remember who else? 

Aaron Carter and Lindsay Lohan, who was the star of several Disney movies, including The Parent Trap, were a couple, circa 2003.  

Their blurry dating timeline -- and Carter's eventual leaving of Lohan for a reunion with Duff -- created a serious feud between the two Disney leading ladies. 

Olivia Holt, whose Disney credits include I Didn't Do It and Kickin' It, knows a thing or two about finding love on a Disney set.

Olivia Holt and fellow singer-actor Luke Benward met in 2012 while filming the Disney Channel Original Movie Girl vs. Monster. The couple split in 2014. 

Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas weren't the only Jonas Brothers to jump into the Disney dating pool. Eldest brother Kevin Jonas dated a Disney music video star prior to meeting Danielle Deleasa, his future wife.  

Kevin Jonas and Zoe Myers met on the set of the Jonas Brothers music video "Year 3000" which premiered on the Disney Channel in 2007. The couple dated into 2008. The Jonas Brothers' song "Video Girl" is said to be about Myers. 

Bridgit Mendler found love on the set of her Disney Channel series Good Luck Charlie.
