Piggy Man

Pig-headed killers are actually more common in horror than you might initially think. In the Saw franchise, Jigsaw's followers wore terrifying pig masks. The murderous farmer in 1980's Motel Hell wore a decapitated pig head. And in the AHS universe, Piggy Man is a popular urban legend that claims you can summon the creature by saying "Here, piggy piggy pig" in a mirror three times.

The Blair Witch Project

It's unclear why these stick figures were hung up in the Millers' house, but they are clearly modeled after the ones in the found-footage horror classic.

Evil Nurses

Villainous medical professionals are a very common archetype, but no one epitomizes the evil nurse stereotype more than Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

The Amityville Horror

Much like Flora befriends the ghost of Priscilla, in The Amityville Horror, the family's daughter bonds with the ghost of a previously murdered resident, Jodie.

The Grudge

Although the Butcher kills her victims with fire, this Chen family ghost is inexplicably wet and deformed. There is no reasonable explanation for these attributes except to draw a clear connection to The Grudge.

The Shining

After smashing through the door with a blade, Ambrose pushes his face up against the hole, clearly mimicking Jack Nicholson in The Shining.

The Exorcist

Throughout The Exorcist, the face of true evil appears subliminally to the movie's characters. The white face with the sunken in black eyes is nearly identical to how Edward Mott briefly appears when his torch passes over his otherwise human features.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Murderous cannibal hillbillies. Are we talking about the Polk family or the Sawyer family? If you're having a hard time telling the difference, it's because they're basically the same.

Misery

As punishment for Shelby and Matt murdering her son, Mama Polk takes a sledgehammer to Shelby's ankle. This move was already made iconic by AHS favorite Kathy Bates in the horror classic Misery.
