Writer Bret Easton Ellis and director Rob Zombie are teaming up to develop a Charles Manson project for Fox, Variety reports. The project, currently envisioned as a limited series, would focus on the events connected to the Manson Family murders, in which Charles Manson convinced his cult followers to go on a killing spree in 1969 in Los Angeles. The events left seven dead, including Sharon Tate, who was eight and a half months pregnant with Roman Polanski's child.
Actor Christopher Jones, who abruptly quit working Hollywood in the 1960s after starring in Ryan's Daughter and ABC's The Legend of Jesse James, died Friday in California of complications from cancer, his partner Paule McKenna told The Hollywood Reporter. He was 72.
Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner is well aware of fan speculation that Don Draper's wife, Megan (Jessica Paré), will be murdered on the June 23 season finale of the AMC drama. Tongues started wagging after the May 26 episode, in which Megan wore a T-shirt with a red star — the same as that worn by actress Sharon Tate in a 1967 Esquire article, two years before she was stabbed to death in L.A. by members of the Manson Family.
