Netflix gets into the original kids business on Christmas Eve with Turbo FAST, a new TV series from DreamWorks Animation. The series, based on the feature film Turbo, will launch exclusively in all Netflix territories on Dec. 24 at 12:01 a.m./PT, the streaming TV service announced Tuesday.
Netflix will begin airing original animated series based on DreamWorks Animation characters next year thanks to a new deal signed between the streaming service and the animation studio. The agreement, which was announced Monday, provides for more than 300 hours of original animated content, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The new shows will be based on new and existing DreamWorks Animation characters (i.e. Shrek, Kung Fu Panda), as well as characters from Classic Media, which DreamWorks Animation purchased last year (i.e. Lassie, Frosty the Snowman).
