This weekend, take a break from whatever highly instagrammable Valentine's Day experience you're planning for your significant other and take a minute to reconnect on a level that really matters: binge-watching the day away together. Get out a bottle of wine (and maybe just put two straws straight into the bottle if you're feeling romantic) and get ready to battle over what to watch first. This week alone we have the return of HBO's hit comedy showcase 2 Dope Queens, Big Mouth's extra thirsty Valentine's Day special and a new Steven Soderbergh drama on Netflix.

These recommendations courtesy of TV Guide are here to help you through your weekend binge. And if you're looking for even more suggestions, head over to TV Guide's Watch This Now! page, which has hand-picked recommendations for all the best shows you can start watching immediately.

1. 2 Dope Queens

2 Dope Queensstarted as a podcast between two good friends. Jessica Williams (of Daily Show fame) and Phoebe Robinson wanted a breezy unscripted showcase for all of their friends' comedic talents, so they served as the wildly off-the-cuff emcees for a series of live events that included a string of incredible comedians and even special guests like Jon Hamm. The project caught HBO's eye and the live events turned into a block party that everyone was invited to attend. Season 1 was a perfectly bingeable four episodes that brought out the best of Brooklyn, and Season 2, which premieres Feb. 8 and features talent like Lupita Nyong'o and Daniel Radcliffe, is bound to take this showcase to bigger, better, and saltier heights.

2. Big Mouth: My Furry Valentine

Big Mouthis an undeniable hit; the sweet, savvy animated comedy tackles the horrors and wonders of puberty by imagining a world in which each of us would be assigned a guide -- a hormone monster -- to help us navigate one of the most confusing times in any person's life. It's returning with a delightfully weird and wild Valentine's Day special called My Furry Valentine, which promises to take its fans to a level of wholesome horniness the likes of which they've never seen before. As if that isn't enough, we're pretty much also guaranteed at least one bombastic musical number, quite a few mispronunciations of Valentine's Day and several orgasmic noises during a recreation of *that* scene from When Harry Met Sally.

3. High Flying Bird

Steven Soderbergh's new movie for Netflix, High Flying Bird, is a doozy. Penned by the same screenwriter who wrote 2016's Best Picture winner Moonlight, High Flying Bird is an intimate look at the ways in which black people sustain and carry forward giant American institutions while still being ruthlessly taken advantage of. Andre Holland, in an astounding performance, plays a sports agent who pitches his hotshot rookie client a high-risk business opportunity during a lockout. The rookie, played by Melvin Gregg of American Vandal, is in dire financial straits after his money has been mismanaged, and both his and his agent's careers are on the line. A tense sports drama about what really happens to famous athletes behind the scenes, it's worth checking out solely for the performances of an outstanding cast.
