After 2017 exposed so many powerful men, particularly in Hollywood, for sexual harassment by way of the #MeToo, hundreds of women in the industry have now teamed up to make 2018 the year that they take proactive measures to prevent such behaviors from going unchecked in the workplace, including industries outside of Hollywood.

Shonda Rhimes, Kerry Washington, Reese Witherspoon and more have joined forces to create the Time's Up initiative to combat harassment and abuse in all fields of employment.

In an open letter posted to The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times, they wrote, "We want all survivors of sexual harassment, everywhere, to be heard, to be believed, and to know that accountability is possible. We also want all victims and survivors to be able to access justice and support for the wrongdoing they have endured."

The organization is expected to serve as a legal justice liaison, including raising defense funds for those fighting workplace harassment.
